If you live in or around Orlando, a slower weekend is closer than you think. Eustis and Mount Dora sit in Lake County, northwest of the city, among dozens of lakes and old Florida small towns.
Friday: arrive and unwind
Check in from the afternoon, light the fire pit by the lake and watch the sun go down from the dock. Campfires are welcome at both the Cottage and the Cabin.
Saturday: small towns and lakes
Spend the morning in downtown Mount Dora or Eustis: antiques, cafés and a walk by the water. In the afternoon, take the kayaks out on the lake (the Cottage has two for guests) or simply read on the deck.
Sunday: slow morning
Coffee on the porch, a last look at the horses in the pasture, and an easy drive home.
